August Program
Tips & Techniques. Presentations will be made on making postcard sized quilts, miniature pins, free form stars and shadows in fabric. Enjoy yourselves while learning and meeting new friends!
Community Outreach
Thanks to your generosity and hard work, this summer we delivered 97 pillowcases & 22 quilts to Camp Okizu (children with cancer); 70 pillowcases & 18 quilts to Camp Wonder (children with life threatening or serious skin disease); and 60 pillowcases to Camp Erin (children's bereavement program of Hospice). The response from the children and administrators has been wonderful - they can't thank YOU enough! As one person said "the children will carry the love you put into the quilts and pillowcases not only though their time at camp, but through their lifetime."
We've recently received a very generous donation of 60 lbs of fabric, batting and other quilting related items. The new Outreach committee hopes to exceed our goal of 100 quilts this year. Stay tuned for upcoming quilt-a-thons.
Senior Fair
The October Senior Fair is looming and we need more inventory. Please see the Ways & Means table for patterns for table toppers, notepad carriers, crayon totes, placemats, table runners, tea wallets and more. Make us something and get a pattern for free! Proceeds of sale items go to the guild, of course :). Items slated for the Senior Faire must be finished and turned in by the October meeting. We'll be accepting things for the Mill Valley Christmas sale through the November meeting.
The guild will again be providing quilts for display during the one day Senior Fair. We need large and medium (not bed sized) quilts for the show. Start thinking of a quilt you are willing to share with the community.
Marin Cancer Institute Exhibit
The Marin Cancer Institute quilt exhibit ended July 9th. The response was heartwarming and grateful. Thanks to all who shared their art for the show - it was truly appreciated!
Quilts will be returned at the August Guild meeting unless an earlier return is arranged. Let the exhibit coordinator know if you wish to have the bamboo slats used to hang your quilt.

September Speaker
Nancy Bavor has been a quilt maker, teacher, collector, appraiser and historian. She is an American Quilter’s Society Certified Appraiser of quilted textiles. Her September Guild presentation, “Demystifying the Quilt Appraisal “ will have value to those who sell or are considering selling their quilts, those who donate quilts, and all the rest of us who welcome more information on improving our work or are just curious about the process and rationale of quilt appraisal.
