Mosaics and the Quilts They Inspire

A journey from the early American Indian basket patterns in mosaics, through the rule of the Moors in Andalusia and the mosaics of the Alhambra Palace, finishing in Italy with the marble mosaics of Pisa and Venice. The similarities of these mosaics to popular quilting patterns is displayed through quilt replicas of these early mosaics and antique and modern-day adaptations.
