Creating quilts to share with our community

Part of our own mission statement is to make quilts to give to local agencies serving Marin residents. If each of us donates one crib or lap quilt per year, we'll be able to provide a few quilts to all of the targeted groups. Watch for monthly updates from our Community Outreach chairpersons.

Outreach Quilt-a-thon

Aegis Show

Senior Retirement home in Corte Madera. Members leant quilts for the enjoyment of the residents. The quilts were changed 4 times a year for a different display each season.

Mountain Play Association

The Mountain Play Association is a local group committed to producing outdoor theatrical experiences that involve and strengthen the community in addition to nurtuing an appreciation of Mt. Tamalpais. Guild members graciously made a quilt based on t-shirts from previous events for auction as a fund raiser benefitting the Mountain Play Association.

Camp Erin

Camp Erin is a summer camp oferring a place where children in who have suffered great personal loss can greive and heal. One of our members made a quilt for the counseling center of Hospice of Marin.

Senior Fair Quilt Show

Member's quilts were displayed at the Marin Senior Information Fair in the entry hall for the enjoyment of Fair visitors.

Senior Access Quilt

Senior Access is an organization which offers community based support for older adults and their families specializing in helping those with memory loss. Guild members created quilt blocks based on the lives of Senior Access participants. The resultant quilt was titled "Journeys: Celebrating Who We Are" and is displayed at the Wilfred George Adult Day Center.

Outreach Quilt Delivery

Most of the beautiful new baby items our members so generously brought to the Xmas party were taken to the Pregnancy Resource Center of Marin. This agency counsels over a 1,000 pregnant teens/women, offers medical checkups, lab work, etc. and prepares layettes to be given to the new mothers. They were quite excited to get 8 bags of new baby items.

Family Services Agency received over 63 quilts. They were thrilled to receive such a generous gift from our guild as it has been a tough year financially for many families, some of whom are on the verge of homelessness or can't afford to heat their homes. The warm quilts will be lovingly used.
